Mail Bags Seized By Armed Men At Dalkey Station

A raid for letters was carried out at Dalkey railway station yesterday morning. About 7 o’clock a number of armed men arrived at the platform and seized the mail bags, which had been placed ready for the passing mail train.

They ordered the two postmen who were in charge of them to go away, and then they made off. About 300 letters were in the bags. They were returned two hours later. All the letters had been opened and were marked "Censored by the IRA"

The mails were again taken from Dalkey railway Station yesterday afternoon. They were subsequently recovered on the Knocknacree road.
